Senior Performance Test Engineer/6-9yrs/Pune

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Test Engineer with 6–9 years of experience to design, implement, and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise with performance testing tools, deep understanding of system architecture, and the ability to analyze and optimize application performance end-to-end.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerformance Testing & Engineering

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests.
• Identify performance bottlenecks in application, database, network, and infrastructure layers.
• Implement and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, BlazeMeter, or similar.
• Develop performance test plans, test strategies, and workload models.

Analysis & Troubleshooting

• Analyze test results to provide actionable insights, remediation options, and root-cause analysis.
• Diagnose performance issues using APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Collaborate with developers and architects to tune application performance.

Performance Environment & CI/CD

• Work with DevOps/Cloud teams to set up and optimize performance test environments.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Develop monitoring dashboards for metrics such as response time, throughput, CPU, memory, GC, DB latency, network metrics, etc.

Documentation & Communication

• Prepare performance test reports, bottleneck analysis, and improvement recommendations.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders including development, architecture, SRE, and product teams.
• Mentor junior performance engineers and contribute to best-practice frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–9 years of hands-on experience in performance testing and engineering.
• Strong command of at least one major performance testing tool:
• JMeter / LoadRunner / Gatling / k6 / BlazeMeter
• Deep understanding of HTTP, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and multi-tier architectures.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in profiling tools/APM solutions:
• Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus
• Experience with Java/Python/JavaScript for scripting and automation.
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL & NoSQL), indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD integration, version control (Git), and build automation.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and reporting skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with chaos engineering or reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems.
• Experience in SRE practices, observability, and performance SLIs/SLOs.
• Exposure to performance testing for mobile applications.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible).

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
