    functional testing
on IoT devices (e.g., button presses, sensor accuracy, LED patterns).
  • Conduct
    connectivity and interoperability testing
with various networks (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, Zigbee, Cellular, LoRaWAN), routers, and hubs.
  • Execute
    performance and stress testing
to evaluate device stability under heavy load, low battery, and poor network conditions.

    negative testing
to ensure the device handles errors and unexpected user input gracefully.
  • Validate
    OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware update
    functionality and reliability.
  • Test
    power consumption and battery life
    to verify they meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with software teams to test
mobile app (iOS/Android) and web application integration
    with the device.

  • Defect Management & Reporting:
  • Identify, isolate, document, and track bugs through their entire lifecycle using bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
  • Provide clear and concise bug reports with detailed steps to reproduce, logs, and relevant data.
  • Work closely with developers and hardware engineers to troubleshoot, replicate issues, and verify fixes.
  • Collaboration:
  • Participate actively in agile/scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
  • Provide clear and timely feedback on product quality and release readiness.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a QA role with a strong focus on testing physical hardware/embedded devices.
  • Solid understanding of IoT principles, architecture, and common communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, CoAP, WebSockets).
  • Hands-on experience with wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, and Zigbee.
  • Experience using tools for network analysis (Wireshark), API testing (Postman), and serial communication.
  • Basic programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
