- Collect coal samples from designated sampling points (manual or mechanical) according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Ensure samples are representative of the entire lot or shipment.
- Label and document all samples accurately with necessary details (e.g., time, date, source, shift, etc.).
- Prepare and process samples for laboratory testing (e.g., crushing, splitting, drying).
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of sampling equipment.
- Assist in loading samples for transport to laboratory facilities.
- Work closely with lab personnel, operators, and quality control teams.
- Follow all safety protocols, including use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard communication.
- Maintain sampling logs, reports, and records as required.
- Report abnormalities in material consistency or equipment malfunctions.
