Job Description Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental standards to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and organizational policies. The role ensures a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors by promoting a strong safety culture.

About the Role:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in line with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing reports and recommending preventive measures.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, permits, and statutory records.
  • Monitor use of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate with site management, supervisors, and contractors to ensure safe project execution.
  • Assist in developing and updating emergency response and evacuation plans.
  • Report safety performance, KPIs, and compliance issues to management regularly.

About You:

  • Proven experience as safety manager
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • BSc/ safety management or relevant field is preferred
  • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
