Job Title: Secondary Social Science (SST) Teacher

Location: Orchids The International School, SUS Road, Pune

Job Overview:

Orchids The International School, SUS Road, Pune is seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary SST Teacher to educate and inspire students from Grades 6 to 10. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics and the ability to make social studies engaging and relevant through interactive and thought-provoking teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver well-structured Social Science lessons in alignment with the CBSE curriculum.
  • Teach subjects including History, Geography, Civics, and Economics to secondary school students (Grades 610).
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and activities that promote critical thinking and global awareness.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluate student performance, and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages inquiry and discussion.
  • Integrate audio-visual tools, real-world case studies, and current events into classroom teaching.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and CBSE board examinations.
  • Participate in school events, PTMs, academic planning, and departmental meetings.
  • Stay updated with changes in curriculum and pedagogical trends in social sciences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, or related discipline.
  • B.Ed. (Mandatory)
  • Minimum 5–10 years of teaching experience at the secondary level (preferably in a CBSE school).
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Strong academic planning and organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with CBSE curriculum and examination formats.
  • Ability to use smart boards, digital tools, and interactive teaching methods.
  • Interest in extracurricular activities like debates, Model UN, quizzes, etc., related to social sciences.

Working Days & Timings:

Monday to Saturday (Weekly off as per school schedule)
