Position Summary
ETS is seeking a strategic, hands-on Senior Software Developer to design and deliver high-impact software solutions that advance the science of measurement and power human progress. In this role, you'll lead development efforts across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), collaborating with cross-functional teams to create reliable, scalable applications that meet both technical and business needs.

You'll work independently and collaboratively to solve complex problems, implement new technologies, and continuously improve ETS's digital infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Software design & development

• Design, code, test, and debug software applications across multiple platforms.

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for design, development, and testing.
• Conduct unit and system testing to ensure quality and performance.

• Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems and processes.

• Collaboration & leadership

• Partner with internal teams across ETS to ensure smooth delivery of services and enhancements.

• Provide peer leadership and collaborate with leads and developers to share knowledge and best practices.
• Support training and onboarding for internal clients when new applications or processes are introduced.

• Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs to uphold quality standards.

• Innovation & continuous improvement

• Explore and implement new technologies to enhance ETS's software capabilities.

• Identify gaps in processes and escalate issues appropriately and proactively.

• Contribute to concept and product research from business, vendor, and technical perspectives.

• Quality & compliance

• Ensure all development activities align with industry best practices and ETS's quality standards.

• Promote ethical standards and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Track project progress and communicate key findings to stakeholders at all levels.

• Minimum of 4+ years of progressively responsible software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with additional coursework in management, information processing or a related field.
• Demonstrated programming skills and general knowledge of information processing technology
• Extensive experience with software engineering standards, practices, methods and tools
• Ability to interact effectively with all departments and employee levels
• Must be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to problem resolution, attention to detail and the ability to be part of a team-oriented (cross-process/function/group) environment
• Proficiency with Windows and Unix operating systems
• Ingenuity and demonstrated proficiency in developing technical strategies
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions that adhere to corporate business objectives
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Must have strong analytical skills
