We're seeking an exceptional Senior Software Development Manager with demonstrated success in building and scaling teams that operate horizontally across large organizations. You'll lead our Trust CX Innovations team in developing enterprise-wide AI solutions that span Amazon's entire Devices & Services (D&S) portfolio, requiring extensive collaboration across product teams, technical organizations, and business units.
Impact & Scope:
- Lead development of Amazon's unified AI trust and privacy frameworks across all D&S products
- Build and grow teams that can effectively support multiple product organizations simultaneously
- Create scalable solutions that can be adopted by diverse technical teams
- Drive standardization and consistency in AI implementation across the D&S organization
- Partner with global teams to implement AI-driven operational excellence at scale
The ideal candidate will combine deep AI expertise with proven ability to build and scale horizontal teams, demonstrating success in driving adoption of shared technologies across large organizations while maintaining high standards for trust, privacy, and customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
Organization-Wide Leadership & Influence
- Build and scale teams that successfully deliver AI solutions across all D&S products and services
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with multiple product teams, platform teams, and service organizations
- Drive adoption of AI trust frameworks and tools across diverse technical organizations
- Navigate complex stakeholder relationships to achieve organization-wide objectives
Technical Leadership & Innovation
- Architect scalable AI solutions that can be implemented across multiple product lines
- Design standardized approaches for AI governance that work across diverse technical stacks
- Create reusable frameworks and tools that enable consistent AI implementation across D&S
- Lead development of shared services and platforms that support multiple product teams
Team & Operational Excellence
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams capable of supporting multiple product organizations
- Establish standardized metrics and KPIs that work across different product contexts
- Create scalable processes that enable efficient cross-team collaboration
- Implement shared ML Ops practices that work across diverse technical environments
About the team
We're a strategic innovation team within Amazon Devices & Services that operates at the intersection of innovative AI technology, privacy engineering, and customer experience. Our horizontal charter spans all D&S products and services, requiring us to build solutions that work at enterprise scale while meeting the unique needs of individual product teams.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field
- 7+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Proven track record of building and growing teams that operate horizontally across large organizations
- 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering AI/ML products at scale
- Demonstrated success in driving adoption of shared technologies across multiple product lines
- Experience managing matrix organizations and influencing without direct authority
- Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-organizational collaboration
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
