Description

Role: Firmware Engineer - CPLD

Location: Bangalore

Exp: 5 to 7 Years

NP: Immediate to 30 Days

Skills: CPLD, FPGA, JTAG, I2C, Python, Verilog or SystemVerilog

What you'll do:

  • Design CPLD firmware using Verilog or SystemVerilog for validation boards

Develop and maintain:

  • Register Map and Technical Reference Manual (TRM) for CPLD Firmware
  • Power and reset sequencing logic
  • Test muxing configurations
  • JTAG debug specifications
  • Firmware source files, test benches, and automation scripts
  • Bring-up and debug utilities
  • Manage CPLD vendor-specific tools including hardware dongles, licenses, and software applications

Align with vendor test plans covering:

  • Firmware updates
  • Power cycling scenarios (AC/DC/Warm boot)
  • I2C register checks

  • CTA Board Interface Integration

  • Define and implement interface specifications for FPGA and Raspberry Pi platforms

Experience:

5 to 7 years of experience

  • Strong experience in CPLD/FPGA firmware development using Verilog/SystemVerilog
  • Proficiency in JTAG, I2C, and other low-level debug interfaces
  • Familiarity with test automation, scripting (e.g., Python, TCL), and simulation environments
  • Experience with CPLD vendor tools (e.g., Intel/Altera, Lattice, Microchip)
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA and Raspberry Pi integration
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation (TRMs, register maps, programming guides)
  • Exposure to system-level testing and embedded validation workflows
  • Experience with hardware bring-up and lab debugging tools

Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
