Role Objective

Lead RBMs end-to-end finance function to build a cashflow-stable, control-driven, audit-ready, growth-capable organization. Own working capital, banking & funding, project finance controls, commercial governance, compliance, MIS & dashboards, and create a strong finance team that supports aggressive execution and profitable growth across multiple industrial EPC sites.

Key Responsibilities

1) Cashflow & Working Capital Leadership (Top Priority)

  • Own RBM's cashflow engine: weekly cash forecast, collections plan, payment prioritization, liquidity buffer.
  • Drive billing-to-cash cycle: RA submission discipline, certification acceleration, retention tracking, claim/variation cash conversion.
  • Control working capital: receivables aging, advances, WIP/unbilled, payables strategy, inter-site fund movement controls.
  • Create strict governance on site cash / imprest / advances / expense approvals.

2) Project Finance, Cost Control & Profitability (EPC Unit-Rate Focus)

  • Build robust site-wise P&L / job costing / cost-to-complete system.
  • Establish productivity-linked financial controls: manpower cost, rentals, consumables norms vs actual, subcontract cost vs output.
  • Identify margin leakages early and drive corrective actions with Projects & Commercial.
  • Implement standardized project financial reviews: monthly margin bridge + risk register for each project.

3) Financial Planning, MIS & Decision Support

  • Lead annual and rolling budgeting: order book to revenue plan, overhead plan, capex plan.
  • Build management dashboards: cash position, AR/AP, project margins, utilization, claims pipeline, exposure reports.
  • Create a single source of truth—clear reporting rhythm: daily/weekly/monthly.

4) Banking, Treasury, Funding & Guarantees

  • Lead banking relationships: limits enhancement, renewal, documentation, covenant compliance.
  • Manage BG/LC strategy, margin money planning, validity tracking, and cost optimization.
  • Support strategic funding: WC lines, invoice discounting, vendor financing, asset financing—based on RBM needs.
  • Monitor interest cost and improve treasury efficiency.

5) Statutory, Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance: GST, TDS/TCS (if applicable), ROC, statutory audits, tax audits, and timely filings.
  • Drive strong ITC governance: vendor compliance, reconciliations, notice handling.
  • Ensure legal/contractual compliance from finance perspective: retention, LD, insurance, indemnities, contract risks.

6) Controls, Governance & Audit Readiness (Zero Leakage Culture)

  • Implement internal control framework: approvals, maker-checker, segregation of duties.
  • Build internal audit mechanism (corporate + site): payroll, procurement linkages, store linkages, rentals, subcontractor bills.
  • Fraud and leakage prevention: cash, fuel, consumables, ghost manpower, unauthorized OT, inflated rentals.

7) Commercial & Contract Finance Governance (With Commercial Head)

  • Define commercial finance rules: pricing sanity checks, risk buffers, escalation clauses, payment milestones.
  • Support claims strategy: documentation governance, quantification, negotiation support.
  • Standardize subcontractor payment terms and back-to-back risk control.

8) Team Building & Finance Organization

  • Build a high-performance finance team:

  • Corporate controllership

  • Site accountants & cost controllers
  • Treasury & banking

  • Compliance & taxation

  • Define KRAs/KPIs and cadence: month close, reconciliations, aging, controls, audit closure.

  • Strengthen ERP discipline and process standardization across sites.
