CCTV Technician

Location: Chennai

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CCTV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting surveillance systems for residential and/or commercial clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, cameras, DVR/NVR units, and related hardware
  • Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, coax, etc.)
  • Diagnose and repair technical issues with cameras, wiring, and network connections
  • Configure remote viewing, mobile apps, and system software
  • Conduct site surveys and assist in designing camera layouts
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and equipment
  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations and professional service
  • Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards

Qualifications

  • Experience in CCTV installation, low-voltage systems, or similar technical field
  • Familiarity with common CCTV brands and technologies (analog, IP cameras, NVR/DVR systems)
  • Basic understanding of networking (IP addresses, routers, switches)
  • Ability to use hand tools, ladders, and testing equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various environments (indoors/outdoors)

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Certifications such as low-voltage license, OSHA 10/30, or manufacturer-specific training
  • Experience with access control, alarm systems, or security networking
