Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to safeguard the Owner's interests in process engineering for the Green Ammonia project by reviewing all relevant process engineering documents and deliverables, ensuring consistency, correctness, process safety, compliance, and optimal plant design and subsequent performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review process design deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, simulations, heat & mass balances).
  • Validate licensor requirements are correctly incorporated.
  • Participate in process safety studies (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, SIL), and several other process related meetings like P & IDs, PFDs etc. reviews
  • Review process control strategies, relief systems, and safeguarding design.
  • Provide independent assessment of process optimization opportunities.
  • Support owner in technical discussions with licensors and contractors.
  • Provide oversight during commissioning and start-up to ensure design intent is met.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • 10–18 years of process engineering experience in ammonia, syngas, hydrogen, or fertilizer plants, experience should be in the design engineering firms and in the mentioned process areas
  • Strong background in process safety and simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus), as also the complete chain of process engineering activities during FEED and detailsed engineering phase of the project
  • Experience in Owner's Engineer/PMC role is desirable but not mandatory
  • Experience in commissioning or associated troubleshooting would be very advantageous.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong analytical and review skills with ability to challenge contractor assumptions.
  • Excellent communication skills to align with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with green hydrogen/ammonia technologies.

Travel & Visa

  • 20–30% international travel plus domestic site visits.
  • US B1/B2 Visa holder preferred.
