Key Responsibilities:

  • Motor Testing & Analysis:

  • Perform insulation testing of motor windings.

  • Measure the resistance of motor windings and assess inductance.
  • Conduct surge tests and high-voltage tests on motors.
  • Perform no-load tests and lock-rotor tests to evaluate motor performance.

  • Conduct vibration and noise testing on motors to identify potential issues.

  • Inspection and Compliance:

  • Perform in-process motor inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Prepare detailed inspection documents and reports.

  • Handle customer and third-party inspections, providing necessary documentation and assistance.

  • Testing Equipment & Calibration:

  • Ensure proper calibration of testing instruments and equipment used in motor testing.

  • Handle calibration activities for various motor testing instruments.

  • Problem Resolution & Site Visits:

  • Conduct site visits to evaluate and resolve motor performance or testing issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support during testing and troubleshooting activities.

  • Standards & Documentation:

  • Familiarize with and adhere to established motor testing standards and protocols.

  • Ensure all tests are conducted according to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 4-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical motor testing, preferably with traction motors.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of motor testing methodologies (insulation, resistance, inductance, surge, high-voltage tests, etc.).

  • Proficiency in performing vibration and noise tests.
  • Familiarity with motor testing standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).

  • Knowledge of in-process inspection and quality control procedures.

  • Additional Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer interactions and inspections.

  • Excellent communication skills for preparing inspection documents and reports.
  • Ability to travel for site visits and troubleshoot motor-related issues.
