Join us as a Lead Release Train Engineer. You will be highly motivated Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead Agile Release Trains (ARTs) as part of our scaled Agile delivery. The RTE (Release Train Engineer) serves as a servant leader and coach responsible for ensuring Agile processes are followed, dependencies are managed, and value is delivered efficiently. You will work closely with Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to facilitate program-level processes and execution, remove impediments, manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

To be successful as Lead Release Train Engineer, you should have experience with:

  • Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) events including PI Planning, ART Syncs, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
  • Drive continuous delivery of value through coordination across multiple Agile teams.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using tools like Jira, Rally, or Azure DevOps.
  • Track and resolve cross-teamdependencies, risks, and impediments.
  • Foster collaboration between teams and system-level integration.
  • Ensure transparency through effective metrics, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Support Agile teams in self-organization and cross-functionality.
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices.
  • Escalate and track program-level issues and risks.
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect & Adapt workshops and coaching.
  • Align with other RTEs, Solution Train Engineers (STEs), and Portfolio stakeholders.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer Certification (or equivalent).
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira Align, Rally, Azure DevOps).
  • Background in software development or technical project management.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Lean Portfolio Management.

Purpose of the role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.
