Position Overview
You will safeguard the firm's risk posture and enable seamless client intake by conducting conflicts checks, corporate/party research, and issue analysis that attorneys can trust. Working across Practice, Conflicts, and Administrative teams, you'll turn complex information into clear, decision-ready summaries—on time, with discretion, and to a high standard of accuracy.
Schedule –
Monday through Friday - 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST
What You'll Do
Conflicts intake & clearance
- Run new-matter and new-party conflict searches using firm databases and approved sources; deliver concise, cite-backed summaries within agreed SLAs.
- Identify potential conflicts and related parties; escalate and document waivers/ethical screens as required.
Corporate & party research
- Perform corporate genealogy and background checks using commercial providers and public records; validate entity status, ownership, and key relationships.
- Produce written research briefs that surface risks, discrepancies, and data gaps, with recommendations for disposition.
Quality, accuracy, and recordkeeping
- Verify and reconcile data across systems; correct posting/computation errors and maintain audit-ready documentation of searches, sources, and decisions.
Client service & communication
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for attorneys, legal assistants, and admin teams; acknowledge requests promptly and meet or exceed response SLAs.
- Translate findings into plain-English summaries that support quick attorney decision-making.
Process improvement & special projects
- Track recurring exceptions, propose search templates or checklists, and help reduce rework/turnaround time over time.
- Support special projects as assigned.
What You Bring
- LLB Legal degree required.
- 2+ years of experience in a law firm environment (conflicts, intake, research, docketing, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand legal documents, parties, and events (pleadings, orders, corporate filings).
- Proven analytical research capability and skill in summarizing findings with clear risk flags.
- Discretion and sound judgment handling highly confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; builds effective relationships across teams.
- Strong organization and time management; thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Technically adept: proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable learning firm databases and research tools.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to client service.
Not Sure You Meet Every Requirement?
We know that great candidates may not match every qualification listed. If you're excited about the role and believe you could be a strong fit, we encourage you to apply. We value potential and a growth mindset as much as experience.
