Job Summary:

The Consultant in General Medicine will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to adult patients, managing acute and chronic medical conditions, and leading the inpatient and outpatient medical services. The role includes clinical decision-making, coordination with other specialties, and ensuring adherence to hospital quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert consultation and management of patients in OPD, IPD, and emergency settings.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of internal medicine and multisystem diseases.
  • Conduct daily ward rounds, review patient progress, and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care involving specialists and allied health professionals.
  • Ensure timely documentation, discharge summaries, and patient records.
  • Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and mortality/morbidity reviews.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.

Qualification:

  • MD / DNB in General Medicine from a recognized university
  • Valid registration with the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council
