Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance of our cloud systems. As an experienced, hands-on cloud engineer, you will be responsible for both Infrastructure automation and container platform adoption at Chubb.
Successful candidate will have the opportunity to build and innovate solutions around Cloud Infrastructure spanning developer experience to operational excellence across the services provided by the cloud engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.

• Monitor cloud infrastructure using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Cost Explorer.

• Optimize cloud security (IAM policies, encryption, network security groups).

• Troubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.

• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services into applications.

• Document cloud architecture, deployment processes, and compliance procedures.

• Implement automation and self-service capabilities using CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure.

• Build Operational capabilities around the Cloud platform for handing over to Operations after release.

• Document and Design controls and governance policies around AWS platform and automate deployments of the policies.

• Manage the end user collaboration, conduct regular sessions to educate end users on services and automation capabilities.

• Find opportunities for automating away manual tasks.

• Attend escalations from support teams and provide assistance during major production issues from an engineering perspective
Key Requirements

• Experience with large cloud transformation projects preferably in AWS.

• Strong understanding of AWS services with demonstrated experience in creating, configuring and troubleshooting EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, Route 53, SQS, SNS, ELB and IAM.

• Utilize tools to automate the deployment and management of infrastructure, promoting consistency and efficiency. Writing Infrastructure as Code preferably using Terraform, CloudFormation and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, Bash and Python.

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize AWS EKS clusters to run microservices and container-based applications.

• Good understanding of cloud networking, including EKS cluster networking, ingress controllers, and DNS.

• DevOps experience with ability to use Github, Jenkins and Nexus for pipeline automation and artifact management.

• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to track cloud service health, performance, and operational issues.

• Experience in certificate management for containerized applications.

• Experience in GitOps would be an added advantage.

• Good to have Python coding experience.

Education and Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT automation with 4 years of deep hands-on experience in AWS.
Preferred Certifications:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
