Job Title : Sales Executive - Ice Cream (Frozen Foods Division)

Location : District-wise posting (within assigned district / territory - Kolkata, Hoogly, Burdwan, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Howrah)

Reporting To : Area Sales Manager / Regional Sales Manager

Department : Sales & Distribution

Job Purpose

The District Sales Executive will be responsible for driving primary and secondary sales, expanding distribution reach, and ensuring brand visibility of Arctiq Ice Cream products across the assigned district. The role involves managing distributors, onboarding new retail outlets, freezer placement, market execution, and ensuring smooth supply chain movement for frozen products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and seasonal sales targets for the assigned district.
  • Drive primary sales through distributors and secondary sales through retail outlets.
  • Execute company sales plans during peak ice cream seasons and festival periods.
  • Track daily sales performance and submit regular sales reports.

2. Distributor & Channel Management

  • Appoint, manage, and strengthen district-level distributors / sub-distributors.
  • Ensure adequate stock availability, correct SKU mix, and timely replenishment.
  • Coordinate with distributors on billing, collections, credit control, and claims.
  • Monitor distributor performance and ensure target alignment.

3. Retail Outlet Expansion & Coverage

  • Appoint and activate new retail outlets including:

  • General Trade (kirana stores)

  • Ice cream parlours
  • Restaurants, cafs, and eateries
  • Highway outlets and seasonal counters

  • Ensure regular beat visits and outlet coverage as per route plans.

  • Increase numeric and weighted distribution within the district.

4. Freezer Placement & Asset Management

  • Identify potential outlets for deep freezer placement.
  • Coordinate installation, utilization, and monitoring of company-owned freezers.
  • Ensure proper freezer hygiene, branding, product visibility, and compliance.
  • Prevent misuse or under-utilization of freezer assets.

5. Market Execution & Visibility

  • Ensure correct product display, branding, and visibility at retail points.
  • Execute in-shop branding, posters, danglers, freezer branding, and POP materials.
  • Implement local promotional schemes, discounts, and trade offers.
  • Monitor competitor activity (pricing, schemes, new launches).

Preferred candidate profile

Education

  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing preferred)

Experience

  • 4-7 years of field sales experience in:

  • Ice cream / frozen foods / dairy / FMCG preferred

  • Experience in district-level sales operations is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong field sales execution skills
  • Understanding of cold chain / frozen category dynamics
  • Distributor & retailer handling experience
  • Negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure seasonal sales cycles
  • Basic proficiency in MS Excel / reporting tools

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the district
  • Two-wheeler mandatory (with valid license)
  • Local market knowledge preferred
  • Physically fit to handle field-intensive role
