Role & Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify 2D drawings using AutoCAD for components like cylinder liners, engine blocks, and casting parts.
  • Interpret and prepare technical drawings, dimensional layouts, and BOMs in compliance with drafting standards.
  • Collaborate with the production and quality teams to ensure designs are aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and design records for new and existing products.
  • Work with senior engineers on design improvements and cost optimization.
  • Use Hexagon software (if experienced) for inspection planning, dimensional evaluation, or 3D coordinate measuring tasks.
  • Support the development of tooling and fixtures for casting/machining based on design needs.
  • Ensure proper documentation, version control, and archival of design data.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD 2D design in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity or working experience with Hexagon software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Inspire, or Q-DAS) will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of mechanical components, casting processes, and tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams (Production, QC, R&D).
