About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Program Manager to oversee the design, execution, and delivery of Gartner-branded research projects. In this role, you will be responsible for driving strong and proactive communication with both external vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aligned and accountable throughout each stage of the research process. The ideal candidate excels at managing complex, multi-party relationships, is comfortable leading difficult conversations to resolve issues or negotiate outcomes and is highly skilled in organizing and maintaining project documentation and folders to Gartner's standards. You will be expected to identify risks and concerns early, address them assertively, and keep all stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.

This position requires strong project management skills, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to drive high-quality, on-time research deliverables that align with Gartner standards. The Program Manager will serve as the central point of contact between research teams, client-facing teams, and external vendors.

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end program management for Gartner-branded research initiatives, including scoping, scheduling, execution, and delivery. 
    Collaborate with Gartner analysts, researchers, partners in methodologies and client engagement teams to define project objectives, research methodology, and success metrics. 
    Partner with design, editorial, and marketing teams to ensure research outputs adhere to Gartner branding, content quality, and compliance standards. 
  • Drive effective and proactive communication with external clients and vendors, ensuring timely submission of responses to Gartner's RFIs and addressing concerns or delays through assertive follow-ups and difficult conversations when required.
  • Manage vendor relationships (survey partners, data providers, agencies) to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of research inputs, proactively identifying and resolving issues or risks that may impact project timelines or quality.
  • Serve as a key liaison for senior stakeholders, facilitating strong engagement, transparent updates, and managing expectations, especially in challenging or high-pressure situations.
  • Oversee document and folder management for all research programs, ensuring files, communications, and deliverables are organized, accessible, and compliant with Gartner's standards.
  • Track project progress, identify risks or bottlenecks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare regular updates, dashboards, and reports for senior stakeholders outlining program status, risks, and next steps.
  • Support continuous improvement by creating and refining program management frameworks and tools for research execution.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Gartner's editorial policies, GDPR/data privacy, and research compliance requirements.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Management, Research, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 6–8 years of experience in program management, preferably in research, consulting, or marketing services.
  • Proven experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects on a global scale.
  • Strong knowledge of research methodologies including surveys, data analysis, and market insights processes.
  • Exceptional project management skills with proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with external clients and vendors; ability to work with senior executives and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

(Preferred Skills)

  • Background in B2B technology research, analyst firm, or management consulting.
  • Experience with branded or sponsored research projects.
  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar).
  • Familiarity with data visualization and storytelling techniques.
