2. ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Our client is a leading NGO in India, focused on improving the quality of education for children, particularly those from low-income communities. The organisation envisions transforming the education landscape in India to ensure every child has access to high-quality education that empowers them to realize their full potential.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will play a critical role within the education programs team. S/he will play a pivotal role in guiding the team to ensure the successful and timely implementation of projects, while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to drive collaborative efforts and achieve desired outcomes.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(A) Project Management:

(1) Oversee on-site teams to ensure the delivery of large-scale projects within timelines and objectives;

(2) Develop strategic roadmaps and implementation plans, ensuring alignment with defined goals;

(3) Establish robust project management processes to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed;

(B) Stakeholder Collaboration:

(1) Partner closely with State Governments, particularly Education Departments, to design, execute, monitor, and track key initiatives;

(2) Coordinate with external stakeholders, including NGOs, domain experts, and inter-state collaborators, to support government efforts.

(C) Problem Diagnosis & Solution Design:

(1) Diagnose complex problems using first principles and develop innovative solutions;

(2) Lead the end-to-end implementation of strategic initiatives.

(D) Team Management:

(1) Mentor and guide team members to enhance their skills and ensure professional growth;

(2) Build a high-performing team culture that prioritizes excellence and collaboration.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification and Experience:

(1) Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred;

(2) Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in managing large-scale, complex programmes, with a focus on strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and delivering measurable outcomes across sectors.

(3) Experience with consulting or government advisory roles with organizations such as the Big 4 or similar firms, shall be an advantage;

(4) Strong understanding of the development sector, with the ability to navigate complex governmental and multi-stakeholder environments.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Proficient in data monitoring and analysis, with a strong ability to interpret and utilize data to inform decision-making:

(2) Excellent project management skills, including the ability to create and execute strategic and short-term project plans;

(3) Strong communication skills in both English and Hindi, including the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at various levels;

(4) Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex organizational landscapes;

(5) Capacity to work under pressure with tight timelines, adapt to changing project requirements, and ensure timely deliverables;

(6) Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices, particularly in the context of education and non-profit sectors.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
