Reporting To: Managing Director / Senior Leadership

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end execution of a Rockfill Dam project. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale civil infrastructure works, particularly in hydraulic structures such as dams, reservoirs, spillways, and water diversion systems.
This role includes full project lifecycle responsibilities—from planning, design coordination, regulatory compliance, and resource management to quality control, execution, and final commissioning. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the timely, safe, and cost-effective completion of the project, while maintaining the highest engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the planning, design coordination, and execution of a Rockfill Dam and associated hydraulic structures (e.g., spillways, diversion tunnels, outlet works).
- Manage site mobilization, sequencing, and scheduling of construction phases.
- Technical & Engineering Oversight
- Ensure correct implementation of engineering designs including earthwork, rockfill compaction, concrete works, and geotechnical stability.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and survey data.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with government bodies, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, geotechnical experts, and local authorities.
- Act as a point of communication between field teams and project sponsors.
- Budgeting & Resource Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets, resource allocations, and cost tracking.
- Approve material requisitions and ensure cost-effective procurement of construction materials and machinery.
- Regulatory Compliance & Approvals
- Ensure compliance with local water resource regulations, environmental clearances, and safety norms.
- Manage statutory approvals, permits, and documentation.
- Site Monitoring & Quality Assurance
- Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to design, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and progress reviews.
- Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Identify potential delays or technical risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Resolve on-site construction or technical issues in real-time.
- Handover & Commissioning
- Oversee the testing, commissioning, and final handover of the dam to the client or operating agency, ensuring all documentation and certifications are in place.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering or Hydraulic Engineering (Master's in Water Resources / Geotechnical Engineering is preferred).
- Experience
10–15 years of project management experience in large-scale infrastructure or water resource projects. Direct experience with dam construction, particularly rockfill or earth fill dams, is essential.
Skills & Expertise:
- Deep understanding of dam engineering, rockfill materials, slope stability, seepage control, and embankment compaction.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic structures, concrete works, and drainage systems.
- Proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Familiarity with geotechnical investigations, lab tests, and quality control.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and statutory compliance.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of hydrology, flood routing, and catchment area modelling.
- Familiarity with ICOLD or CWC guidelines.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments (EIA) and rehabilitation/resettlement (R&R) coordination.
- Experience with quality certifications like ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
