What we're looking for:

The Project Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and managing Ankleshwar site projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure. This involves leading cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and scope. Specific Accountability and responsibilities include: 

Strategic Leadership & Planning

• Lead all Capex activities ensuring safety, budget adherence, and timely execution.
• Initiate and manage Capex projects from planning through commissioning, aligning with site and global priorities.
• Drive Capex budgeting in collaboration with site management and ensure accurate forecasting and monthly reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Global Capex Team for portfolio updates and reporting.
• Engage EHS, Production, Maintenance, and technical teams to schedule Capex work with minimal production disruption.
• Support CER (Capital Expenditure Request) processes with relevant stakeholders.

Vendor & Engineering Oversight

• Lead vendor evaluations with Purchasing and Technical teams; recommend selections.
• Establish external engineering services for site support (e.g., Ankleshwar).
• Review technical datasheets and participate in equipment selection for new installations.

Execution & Operational Excellence

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and startup of Capex projects, ensuring future maintenance readiness.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with safety/environmental standards (e.g., OSHA, HAZOP).
• Serve as backup for Maintenance Manager, ensuring continuity in operations.

Project & Process Management

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Lead project teams, assign roles, and mentor junior engineers.
• Optimize chemical processes for safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement.
• Serves as a backup for the Maintenance manager.

EHS specific responsibilities includes:

• To follow site EHS procedure and best practices
• Read and understand relevant procedure and perform the work safely.
• Support site EHS in safety campaign, Safety observations to prevent the injuries.
• Follow the site PSM procedure and implement the PSM culture

Required Knowledge/Skills:

• Demonstrate strong Safety leadership and good working knowledge on safe work practices and maintenance excellence.
• Effective communication, human relation, and organizational skills to work effectively with team/workgroup or those outside the formal line of authority to accomplish organizational goals.
• Possesses strong analytical skills and good technical background.
• Strong people management skill who can effectively coordinate between functions with high level of collaboration.
• A decision maker.
• Good written and spoken English.

Required Experience:

14-15 years of technical experience in the Complex Chemical process / Petrochemical / Refinery or any Similar nature of Industry

Required Education:

BE / BTech in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with PMP / PRINCE2 Certification.
