Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Engineer to oversee and improve the quality assurance processes in our coil manufacturing plant. The QC Engineer will be responsible for developing quality standards, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures specific to coil production.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process items, and finished coils to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for quality issues.
- Monitor production processes and collaborate with production staff to resolve quality concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, tests, and audit results.
- Lead internal quality audits and prepare for external audits (ISO, customer audits, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, or specific coil standards).
- Train production staff on quality procedures and standards.
- Collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams to implement design or process improvements.
- Utilize quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, CAPA, and 5 Why analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in quality control within a coil manufacturing or metal processing industry.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and industry standards.
- Proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, hardness testers, etc.).
- Knowledge of statistical quality control and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Certification in Quality (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP/QMS software.
- Understanding of coil manufacturing processes (e.g., slitting, annealing, pickling, cold rolling).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
