Job Description: We are in search of a Development Lead with hands-on experience in client/server and cloud hosted solutions. In this role, you will primarily work with MicroFocus and Veryant COBOL and GitLab for repository and CI/CD. As a Lead Associate, you will be responsible for architecting new features, developing features from scratch, refactoring existing code, reviewing code and design, enforcing secure coding practices, and overseeing developer architecture and code changes through to completion in a live production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recent hands-on coding and software design; preferably in the financial services industry
- Strong technical experience with required technologies.
- Work autonomously and in teams, and will never back down from the challenges of scale
- Architect and implement new features for our customers.
- Develop features from scratch and refactor existing code.
- Oversee developer architecture, changes, and code reviews.
- Ensure changes are completed and deployed in a live production environment.
- Analyze user needs and build well architected solutions.
- Design and create services and system architecture for projects.
- Improve applications and code quality through best practices, reviews, and scans.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions.
- Work with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Conduct peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback and ensuring secure coding practices.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across the full application stack.
- Tune application performance.
- Monitor system health and support deployments in collaboration with DevOps teams.
- Perform quality unit tests and system tests.
- Document technical specifications, APIs, and system architecture as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of professional, hands-on coding and software design experience.
- Experience leading and mentoring agile development teams.
- Proven track record of leading projects to completion on time.
- Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle and Agile software development.
- Solid software design knowledge to create extensible, reusable software that meets architectural objectives and security assessments.
- Proficiency in:
- MicroFocus/Veryant COBOL
- ISAM
- GitLab for code repository and CI/CD
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in XML, VS Code IDE.
- Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell.
