A Copy editor is responsible to review and revise content for accuracy and quality, including spelling, styling, grammar, punctuation, headings, and formatting of references. It also includes to Communicate and work with production team to ensure that content is published in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Edit documents as per the publisher's language and style requirements
  • Check the Manuscript/articles submitted by authors for punctuation, spelling, clarity, consistency, and subject-verb-agreement
  • Ensure that the documents are ready and well set for the next stage, which is language editing, and converting them into a marked-up document.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and its functions like track changes and comments.

Desired skills and experience

  • Requires 3-5 year experience in Copy Editing / Language Editing / Style Editing of journals/books with high emphasis on quality.
  • Sound knowledge in concepts of copy editing.
  • Excellent command over English (both written and verbal skills).
  • Flexible to work in rotational shift.
  • Mastery of journal styles, usage, etc.
