Position: Urban Head

Reporting To: Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Location:

Role Overview:

The Urban Head will work closely with the ASM to drive store expansion, installation, and stabilization of secondary sales. The role involves identifying opportunities, ensuring timely store setup, and supporting Sales Executives (SEs) to strengthen Berger Paints market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Store Expansion & Installation

  • Achieve store mapping targets as defined.
  • Assist ASM in shortlisting high-potential prospects and booking SIS (Shop-in-Shop).
  • Independently book stores without ASM's direct support.
  • Ensure stores are installed within the defined timelines.

2. Stabilization of Secondary Sales

  • Drive painter additions through SEs as per the target list provided by HO BD team.
  • Ensure BDO reviews SE performance, similar to DG reviews, with HO BD coordinating the activity.
  • Train SEs to:

  • Convert XP leads through KCs registered in the store.

  • Contact recent customers from building material stores and convert them to Berger Paints.

  • Leverage Berger's existing painter network to generate additional business.

  • Monitor and review store-level RP (Retail Partner) performance.

3. Relationship Management & Follow-ups

  • Ensure RPOs (Retail Project Officers) map and visit Builders/Engineers regularly.
  • Review builder-related Retail Project leads and provide timely feedback to RPOs and Prolinks Manager.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Graduate/MBA with 4–5 years of sales/retail/channel management experience (preferably in paints, FMCG or building materials).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with ASMs.
  • Proactive, target-driven, and good at problem-solving.
