Manufacturing Engineering

Summary: Improve Manufacturing processes by creating and maintaining manufacturing process routers and supporting
continuous process improvement. Supports manufacturing automation by programming for CNC equipment manufacturing
processes. Improves operational efficiency by managing projects that implement improved technology and/or processes into
the manufacturing environment. Supports Manufacturing Engineers on projects related to continuous improvement and
capital equipment acquisitions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Supports manufacturing operations
- CNC programming (Proficient in level A,B,C, programming; progressing towards level D programming proficiency)
- Enters data into manufacturing databases
- Enables the calculation of standard costs by entering accurate time standards and cost estimates on routers that can be
used in the standard cost roll-ups
- Supports a smooth and consistent work flow in the manufacturing areas by creating quality routers that are complete and
efficient
- Supports operations projects related to continuous improvement efforts within core competencies
- Supports companywide Safety awareness and Safety initiatives
? Collaborates with Engineering Design Team
- Provides feedback on engineering blueprints, and proposes changes that will improve quality, reduce cost while
leveraging Columbia Machine's manufacturing capabilities.
? Achieves financial objectives
- Provides cost estimates based on expert product knowledge and technical familiarity
- Lead and supports team objectives to complete projects on time and within estimated budgets
? Supports internal and external customer service
- Provides support to manufacturing operations as issues and questions arise regarding manufacturing processes
- Maintains positive communication and a collaborative approach with all manufacturing employees
- May travel to support organizational efforts to support customers: up to 5%
? Contributes to the continuous improvement effort
- Reduces manufacturing costs and lead times on parts and assemblies by improving manufacturing process and/or tooling
? Maintains professional and technical knowledge
- Looks to maintain personal and professional advancement through seeking knowledge and new skills.
- Looks to leverage opportunities to learn by attending: conferences, tradeshows, customers sites and knowledge building

workshops: travel up to 10%
? Contributes to team effort
- Willing to attempt new assignments or fill in for others as needed; accomplishes other duties as assigned within core
competencies
- Mentors and guides team members on activities related to onboarding and training of department processes
