We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Systems Administrator.

In this role, you will: 

• 1st – 2nd Line Production Support for the domain
• Incident Management, ensuring all root causes are followed up with engineering / vendor
• Deliver an Infrastructure and software provisioning for the domain
• Be part of capacity and performance management capability for the domain in conjunction with engineering
• Ensure SLA commitments are met, and escalate accordingly
• Ensure ISR policies and procedures are adhered to
• Work with Engineering and operations to ensure our environment is monitored appropriately and healthy.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of VMware technologies & products, scripting, automation. (Vmware 6.x, powercli, powershell)
• Deep technical understanding of IaaS, PaaS, software defined networking and Virtualisation
• Existing proven technical skills covering Vcenter, Vrops and VRa/Vro skills highly desirable
• Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. It infrastructure support
• Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Cloud Services and Virtualisation
• Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Worked in a similar role before in a global organisation
• Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Virtualisation technologies, automation, Storage, networks
• Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Global service desk
• Availability to work the shift pattern required for this role, i.e. Availability to be on a call out Rota is needed for this role
• Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. Ad Hoc as needed globally
• Willingness to undertake the training/study required in this role, i.e. Willingness to undertake training and study as needed for new products and services
• Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Virtualisation and cloud in a similar function is desirable but not essential
• Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Global Support / Virtualisation and cloud is desirable but not essential
• Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Global Support is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience of delivering an excellent customer service
• An open, flexible and supportive approach to change and innovation
• Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
• Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
• Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
• Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
• Supported project teams/managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project management
• Experience of personally complying with business processes, rules and regulations
• In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have worked as part of a Global Support team, and be customer focussed.
