Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fruit Processing Consultant to provide technical, operational, and strategic guidance in setting up and optimizing fruit processing, value addition, and product development units. The consultant will assist in feasibility studies, process design, equipment selection, quality assurance, and compliance with food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct feasibility and techno-economic studies for fruit processing and value addition projects.

* Design processing flowcharts for key fruits (e.g., mango, guava, custard apple, papaya, pineapple, etc.).

* Recommend suitable processing technologies — pulping, dehydration, juice extraction, freezing, or canning.

* Guide in equipment selection, plant layout, and capacity optimization.

* Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processing, packaging, and quality control.

* Provide input on product formulation, preservation techniques, and shelf-life enhancement.

* Advise on government schemes, subsidies, and approvals related to food processing (MOFPI, APEDA, FSSAI).

* Train staff on hygiene, food safety, and process efficiency.

* Assist in market linkage, branding, and value-added product development (purees, RTS beverages, jams, etc.).

* Ensure environmental and waste management standards are met during operations.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's or master's degree in food technology, Food Processing, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.

* Minimum 2–more than 10 years o of experience in fruit processing or food industry consultancy.

* Strong knowledge of fruit handling, preservation, and processing technologies.

* Familiarity with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards.

* Experience in setting up small to medium-scale fruit processing units preferred.

Skills Required

* Technical expertise in fruit processing equipment and process design.

* Ability to assess cost–benefit and project viability.

* Strong communication and training skills.

* Knowledge of Indian fruit value chains and export standards.

* Innovative thinking for new product development and by-product utilization.
