  • If you're recruiting for a Professor of Dermatology now (under NMC 2025), the candidate you hire should ideally have:
  • Recognized PG qualification in Dermatology (MD/DNB Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy)
  • Worked as Senior Consultant / PG Teacher in a recognized / NBEMS-accredited institution (or qualified national institute) with at least 3 years full-time teaching experience in Dermatology post-eligibility as PG teacher
  • Documentation showing that the teaching experience was in a dedicated Dermatology department/unit (with separate infrastructure)
  • Due to NMCs relaxed norms (220-bed criteria), some experienced consultants from government hospitals may now also qualify making hiring more flexible than earlier
