About The Role:

The Designer within D2 International will handle the leather goods category and is responsible for sourcing, pattern cutters, craftsmen and vendor communication. From the initial development stage at proto to salesman samples and following through to production. You will follow up and ensure timely delivery and sample fulfilment. In this position, you will be working closely with design, vendors, sourcing team, pattern cutters and craftsmen. You will report directly to the Head of Development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Create tech packs and hold a clear and neat administration.
  • Working closely with designers, craftsmen, and vendors.
  • Continuously improving the product by finding innovative production techniques.
  • Keep up to date with new materials, shapes, and techniques. Fashion forward.
  • Judging proto samples on technical details, measurements and workmanship.
  • Communicating comments to pattern cutters, craftsmen, sourcing team and vendors.
  • Also, anticipating feasibility of changes within the timeline/critical path.
  • Sample progress tracking, monitoring deadlines and status.
  • Product and production know-how to realize best FOB prices.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    Proven experience working with global fashion/luxury brands, or a related field for min 4-8 Years.
  • Portfolio:
    A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design projects.
  • Software Proficiency:
    Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Corel Draw and CAD.
  • Leadership and Mentorship:
    Demonstrated
    Extensive
    ability to lead and mentor junior designers.
  • Technical know-how:
    Strong understanding of leather materials, hardware, trims, and construction techniques.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
    Ability to identify and solve design problems, and to analyse design performance.
