The WB Finance & Accounting (WFA) Vice Presidency is responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting and internal control framework for IBRD and IDA, and the extensive Trust Fund/Partnership portfolio of the WB entities. It supports an appropriate fiduciary control framework and administering disbursements for Bank lending and leads the client service function for the WB's corporate expenses. Organizationally, WFA is comprised of three departments: (1) Corporate Accounting and Reporting, (2) Trust Funds and Loans, and (3) Financial Controls. In WFA, our mandate supports both internal and external clients while we focus on delivery, optimization, impact, and people & culture.
WFACN Team Overview:
The WFA Country Office Accounting (WFACN) unit in Chennai under Financial Controls department, comprises two work programs:
1.Country Office Accounting (COA) responsible for providing accounting and advisory services to IBRD and IFC Country Offices and aid maintenance of internal control framework. 2. Vendor Master Records (VMR) responsible for creation and maintenance of banking information for Vendors across the globe ensuring adherence to local banking regulations.
WFACN is currently seeking an Accounting Analyst for the VMR work program within the team.   The successful candidate will report to the WFACN Accounting Officer and will be responsible for the following:
Vendor Master Maintenance:

•  Perform daily updates and verification of vendor banking information without errors or escalations, maintaining high standards of data integrity and accuracy.
•  Conduct peer reviews of vendor information updates to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
•  Foster strong collaboration with key stakeholders such as AP, AR, Treasury, HR, and Corporate Procurement to ensure timely and accurate updates of master data information.
•  Maintain open lines of communication, adhere to defined timelines, and continuously update progress to ensure business needs are met on time and processes are optimized.
•  Ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met to maintain high levels of service quality and client satisfaction.
•  Produce and interpret VMR data reports, identifying trends and providing insights to support decision-making.
Project Management:

•  Vendor Registration Portal: Oversee the development and implementation, ensuring seamless integration with ITS and Corporate Procurement.
•  Project ARIA: Manage the migration to the business partner module, coordinating with stakeholders for a smooth transition.
•  Streamline and Automate VMR Processes: Identify areas for improvement, implement agile technology, and continuously monitor for optimal performance.
System and Process:

•  Lead or participate in the team's system projects, including preparation of business requirements, and liaising with other units and ITS.
•  Contribute to requirement specification, testing implementation and maintenance of any new systems, applications, tools, and reports for the team, to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and standardization.
•  Identifying opportunities for improvements in current processes, initiating improvements within the system and control framework; working with business and technology teams across locations to implement solutions / improvements.

Selection Criteria

Education and Experience:

•  Bachelor's or master's degree in any discipline 
•  Professional accounting qualification (Ex. CA, CPA, ACCA) – not mandatory, but is a plus
•  Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the functional area
Knowledge and Skills:

•  Proven track record of timely and high-quality service delivery, handling escalations, and advisory support.
•  Ability to effectively work with various levels of staff within the department and across the institution; maintain continuous, open, and consistent communication with all stake holders.
•  Ability to lead and manage small automation projects/initiatives
•  Demonstrated ability to analyze business process requirements and translate them into design specifications for process changes and automated solutions.
•  Experience in SAP FI system, Power BI, Tableau tools is desirable. Exposure to other systems like PeopleSoft would be an added advantage 
•  Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
•  Solid track record with resolution of issues, exceptions, and aging items and stakeholder engagements
•  Strong analytical skills with ability to collate, organize and interpret data, assess issues, develop sound conclusions, formulate remedial measures with attention to detail and accuracy
