Linux System Administrator

Iridium Cloud System, a subsidiary of CDmon, a global pioneer in domain registration, web hosting, and cloud services, is on the lookout for Linux System Administrator to join our growing team.

Job Location : Remote

• 5+ Years experience in LAMP, Min 2 years experience in Automation
• The System Administrator will manage and maintain the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) platform, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
• The role also involves handling critical tasks such as database server crash recovery and disaster recovery for servers.
• LAMP Stack Expertise - Strong knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP to efficiently manage and optimize the platform.
• Server Monitoring & Incident Response - Proficiency in using monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios) to detect and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Security Management - Experience in developing and applying security policies and rules to protect against evolving cyber threats.
• Disaster Recovery & Backup Management - Ability to recover from server crashes and implement disaster recovery plans.
• Automation - Proficient in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate daily tasks and repetitive processes.
• Postfix Mail Server Administration - Experience configuring and troubleshooting Postfix and handling mail server-related issues.
• Database Management - Strong understanding of MySQL database server management and recovery processes.
• Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and server issues efficiently.
• Networking & Firewall Management - Solid understanding of networking protocols, firewall rules, and IP table configuration.
• Communication & Documentation - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document procedures and collaborate with teams.

Additionally :

• The Member should be capable of automating routine and time-consuming server-side tasks
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Postfix mail server.
• Proficiency in configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt Stack or Chef, and scripting languages like Bash or Python.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux OS and networking.
• Experience in working on large-scale Cloud and On-Prem systems
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Have an enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude"

Roles And Responsibilities

• Be part of transparent and responsible to automate work in Cloud operation
• Key duties include developing and implementing new security measures in Mod_sec, fail2ban, and firewall based on emerging threats, monitoring the infrastructure using various tools, and taking appropriate actions in response to incidents.
• Work closely with Operations, maintenance, monitoring, business intelligence, Infrastructure, and operations teams to understand requirements, provide technical guidance and facilitate seamless development, automate daily work, integration, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment and monitoring
• Work with cloud services for infrastructure management
• Collaborate with development and IT teams for seamless operations
• Ensure network stability and security in DevOps processes
• Deep understanding of cloud environment methodologies and scalable cloud architecture.
• Evaluate, implement, and manage DevOps tools and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Responsible for keeping the dev and operations system alive 24X7
• Automate the critical jobs across the entire platform to minimize manual errors and human intervention
• Implementation of effective monitoring for all the events and logs with the right alerting/escalations for the critical alerts
• Bring new ideas, change, improve, and simplify our infrastructure and development processes.
