About the Role

As a Security Intern, you will join our Security team in Jan, 2026 to solve complex problems and secure our products. Interns will be assigned real-world projects that help our security scale and secure our customers from day one. Interns will gain the same experience as our full-time engineers with responsibilities, ownership and opportunities but scoped to fit within the time constraints of their internship.

You will get to work on projects around securing our products and infrastructure as well as be involved in real security incidents. You will be provided with all the tools and knowledge needed to be successful in your project. Your dedicated mentor and manager will support you with your learning and development throughout your time with us. You will join your fellow interns in a variety of socials, talks with Rippling leaders, and more

What you will do
  • Utilize your development skills to build on security operations frameworks and AI based solutions
  • Think critically and apply your knowledge to real world, complex problems
  • Actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle to security products at various stages.
  • Learn about the business, our clients' needs, and the impact of your team and related projects
  • Attend Meet & Greets with various stakeholders like Product Managers, Designers, Customer support, Sales and teams to gain a holistic view of what it takes to run a company like Rippling
  • Foster relationships with your intern cohort and teams through both exclusive internship social events and company/office-wide events
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing 4th year in bachelor's or dual degree program in engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills to work cross functionally and across departments
  • Solid programming skills with an emphasis on backend experience and knowledge
  • Good foundations of security principles and software security
  • Ability to adapt and ask action-oriented questions to progress
  • Passion and drive to constantly learn and develop your engineering skills
About the team

The Rippling security team has 3 teams working focussed on Product Security, Infrastructure Security and Detection and Incident Response (DART).

As a security engineer you have an opportunity to work on a project related to one of these teams.
