Job Title: Legal Executive-Advocate

Location: Chennai

Navarathna Housing Finance Limited is a company founded by first-generation entrepreneurs with a strong focus on the financial services sector. In addition to housing finance, we operate Navarathna Financial Services Ltd., an NBFC.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Legal Executive with experience in the home finance sector, particularly in handling cheque bounce cases (Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act), arbitration, and loan recovery procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure legal compliance, manage litigation, and support the company's legal and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle cheque bounce cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, including filing and follow-up.
  • Draft and issue legal notices, represent the company in legal proceedings, and liaise with external legal counsel.
  • Manage loan recovery cases, arbitration proceedings, and other financial disputes.
  • Conduct legal due diligence on loan agreements, mortgage deeds, and other financing contracts.
  • Provide legal support to the recovery team for loan default cases and dispute resolution.
  • Maintain legal records and case documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with housing finance regulations and stay updated on legal changes.
  • Assist in drafting legal policies and internal compliance documents.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualification: Law graduate (Advocate) with enrollment in the Bar Council.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of legal experience, preferably in the home finance, NBFC, or banking sector.
  • Legal Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of Negotiable Instruments Act (Sec. 138), Arbitration and Conciliation Act, SARFAESI Act, and other financial laws.
  • Experience in handling cheque bounce cases, arbitration, and legal recovery processes.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, drafting, negotiation, and case management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple departments.

Salary: ₹15,000 - ₹25,000 per month

Job Type: Full-time
