About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator to manage and support our database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both on-premises and cloud-based database systems, with hands-on experience in database administration, cloud migration, system monitoring, backup management, and data recovery. This role is critical to ensuring our database environments are secure, reliable, and optimized for performance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize relational databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

  • Plan and execute cloud migration initiatives, including moving on-premises databases to Azure or AWS platforms.

  • Monitor database and system performance using appropriate monitoring tools and implement improvements where needed.

  • Manage backup and recovery operations, ensuring business continuity through reliable data protection strategies.

  • Perform database patching and updates, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams to minimize downtime.

  • Implement and maintain high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and replication.

  • Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools such as PowerShell and T-SQL.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

  • Stay current with the latest advancements in database technologies and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator or equivalent certification preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience managing relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or similar).

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and database migration strategies.

  • Hands-on experience in backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.

  • Proficiency in database performance tuning and system monitoring tools.

  • Experience in automating tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or similar scripting languages.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
