Sr. Planning and Estimation Engineer

Qualification & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in estimation, planning and reconciliation within the civil engineering/construction industry

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for drawings and quantity take-offs
  • Strong command over MS Excel for BOQ preparation, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project (MSP) for project scheduling and tracking
  • Practical exposure to Civil Engineering–based ERP software for project costing, resource planning, billing, and reconciliation
  • Ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications, and contracts

Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimation & Costing

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs and rate analyses for civil engineering projects
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors for material price comparisons and finalization
  • Input of estimated material in ERP software & first level approval after MRN done from site.

2. Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using MSP, ensuring alignment with contract timelines
  • Monitor progress, track delays and prepare recovery schedules if required
  • Perform resource planning (manpower, equipment, and materials) for efficient project execution

3. Reconciliation & Cost Control

  • Carry out material reconciliation (cement, steel, aggregates, etc.) between site consumption, purchase and stock records
  • Perform quantity reconciliation between executed works and drawings/BOQ
  • Prepare reconciliation statements for monthly management reporting and audits

4. Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Generate periodic project progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for management review
  • Track project KPIs such as cost variance, schedule variance, and productivity rates
  • Integrate ERP-based data with project schedules for cost control and forecasting

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with design, procurement, finance and site teams to ensure smooth execution and accurate reporting
  • Participate in client and consultant meetings to present estimates, schedules, reconciliation reports, and progress updates
  • Assist in contract management by preparing supporting documents for claims, variations and extensions
