The Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering will lead the departments teaching, research, and innovation initiatives. The role involves mentoring faculty and students, fostering research collaborations, securing funded projects, and contributing to the continuous development of academic excellence and institutional reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic & Teaching
- Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions in core and advanced ECE subjects (e.g., Communication Systems, VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, IoT, Signal Processing, etc.).
- Develop and update curriculum in alignment with NEP 2020, AICTE, and industry trends.
- Guide undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students in research, projects, and dissertations.
- Implement innovative teaching-learning methodologies including ICT-based, outcome-based, and experiential learning approaches.
Research & Innovation
- Undertake independent and collaborative research leading to publications in Scopus/WoS-indexed journals.
- Secure sponsored and consultancy projects from government (DST, AICTE, DRDO, ISRO, etc.) and industry bodies.
- Guide PhD scholars and contribute to departmental research clusters or centers of excellence.
- Encourage student participation in research, hackathons, patents, and innovation competitions.
Leadership & Administration
- Provide academic leadership to departmental faculty and ensure quality standards in teaching and assessment.
- Participate in departmental planning, budgeting, and accreditation (NBA/NAAC/NIRF) activities.
- Lead faculty development initiatives and mentoring programs.
- Collaborate with other departments for interdisciplinary teaching and research projects.
Industry & Institutional Engagement
- Build partnerships with industries, research organizations, and academic institutions for internships, joint projects, and knowledge sharing.
- Organize workshops, seminars, FDPs, and conferences to promote learning and professional development.
- Support institutional rankings and visibility through contributions to NIRF, NAAC, QS, and other benchmarking processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Qualification:
Ph.D. in Electronics & Communication Engineering or relevant discipline (as per AICTE/UGC norms). Experience:
Minimum 10 years of teaching/research/industry experience, including at least 3 years as an Associate Professor.
- Proven research record with publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or patents.
Experience in guiding Ph.D. scholars preferred.
Strong academic and research orientation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Leadership, mentoring, and team management ability.
- Familiarity with modern educational technologies and outcome-based education (OBE).
Exposure to accreditation processes (NBA, NAAC) and NIRF data management.
Membership in professional bodies like IEEE, IETE, ISTE.
- Experience in interdisciplinary or funded research projects.
- Engagement with industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, AI, ML, and Embedded Systems.
