Role Overview
The Area Sales Officer will play a critical role in driving sales and distribution efforts within a designated territory. This position requires hands-on fieldwork to ensure the effective management of distributor networks, retail outlets, and sales teams, with a focus on maximizing product reach and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive primary and secondary sales by managing orders and stock levels effectively
- Identify, appoint, and develop distributors and retail partners in the area
- Conduct frequent market visits to ensure product availability, visibility, and compliance
- Develop and implement strategic route plans for optimal beat coverage
- Monitor competitor activities and gather actionable market intelligence
- Coordinate and execute promotional campaigns to boost sales performance
- Support and mentor Sales Representatives to improve field productivity
- Prepare and submit accurate sales reports and market updates to management
Candidate Profile
- 2–5 years of experience in FMCG sales with proven success in field sales and distribution management
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Result-driven, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to fieldwork
- Comfortable using basic digital tools and Excel for reporting
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in a fast-paced environment
