Background

The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance the quality of life for all by empowering marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the health and well-being of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities, and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our two-fold strategy involves identifying and working within aspirational districts and high poverty indexes in the North, North-East, and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities through urban programs.

Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through the direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

About Project

The Hans Foundation will support 10 Balwadis in Delhi. The interventions in Balwadis will include - strengthening the quality of services in the Balwadis and Introduction of digital learning system in the centres.

General

• Location of Job: North, Central, South Delhi and East Delhi.
• Type of Employment: Contractual; renewable basis project requirements.

• Reporting to: Project Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities

• Identification and Mobilization of the children for 3 – 6 years of age.
• Follow and use the module/curriculum and other materials.
• Assess student's abilities & make teaching plans accordingly.
• In the absence of main teacher can manage the whole class.
• Conduct an assessment that focuses on both the long-term and short-term needs of the students.
• Conduct periodic assessment and evaluation.
• Keep track and reflect on students& progress to manage classroom crises and resolve conflicts.
• Monitor children & behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed.
• Prepare students for the transition to the next grade.
• Focus on the upgradation of their percentage and develop a strong base which helps them in academic and competitive classes.
• Ensuring the students attend classes on daily basis.
• Regular in touch with parents for student Feedback.
• Daily reporting and documentation with the help of main teacher.
• Participation in a monthly review meeting.
• Enthusiastically participation in teachers' training program/faculty development program
• Entire code of conduct should be in congruent with child rights policy & laws and policy for the protection, safety and overall well-being of the child.

• Educational Qualifications
• Graduate/ Under Graduate in any stream

• Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

• Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant teaching experience in play school or primary school

• Basic computer skills

• Strong written, instructional and verbal communication capabilities to relate and interact with multicultural background students.

• Giving close attention to details and demonstrating ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to lead and drive the project with a vision to achieve transformational change.
• Have an empathetic & compassionate attitude.
• Sensitive towards the needs of children.
• Proven experience as a preschool teacher.
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guideline for classrooms.
• Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen.
