Workday is hiring a backend Software Engineer who will work with a team to develop critical platforms and tools to support a global team building backend core services. This team is responsible for developing a world-class developer experience and delivery for services core to Workday's backend platform. You will have the chance to collaborate with engineers worldwide, contributing to our company's success. About the Role

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain JVM-based software applications and developer tools
• Collaborate with teams from various departments to identify software requirements and effectively implement solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code to ensure high-quality software development
• Identify and resolve issues within software applications to ensure optimal functionality.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually enhance your skills

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or an equivalent related field
• 4+ years in Java software development
• 2+ years experience with improving Developer Tools and Developer Experience
• Experience with Gradle or Maven and general patterns of Java packaging and dependency management

Other Qualifications:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Development experience in Spring and Spring Boot
• Experience with managing Jenkins pipeline
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS or equivalent Cloud Providers
