ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write engaging and culturally resonant dialogue for interactive, choice-based mobile games.
  • Develop character arcs, branching storylines, and emotional moments across episodes.
  • Collaborate with designers and editors to ensure pacing, tone, and narrative quality.
  • Create story outlines, dialogue scripts, and maintain narrative consistency.
  • Reflect Indian cultural nuances and contexts authentically in storytelling.
  • Review and revise content based on feedback from testing and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with localization teams to support multilingual versions when required.
  • Participate in planning, research, prototyping, and pre-production exercises.
  • Edit your scripts in response to narrative or gameplay feedback.
  • Provide peer feedback on the work of other writers with attention to tone, voice, and consistency.
  • Assist other departments by resolving narrative-related issues during development and release cycles.
  • Document narrative processes, story logic, and research insights for internal reference.
  • Contribute to narrative team activities beyond assigned content to support cross-functional collaboration and personal growth.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proven experience in narrative writing for games, screenwriting, or interactive fiction.
  • Strong command over English with an understanding of Hindi (reading/comprehension).
  • Familiarity with Indian cultural themes, social norms, and audience preferences.
  • Ability to write character-driven branching narratives with emotional depth.
  • Experience using narrative tools like Twine, Ink, or custom scripting formats.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to accept feedback and iterate quickly.
  • Experience crafting compelling storylines and naturalistic spoken dialogue.
  • Understanding of story structure in mobile free-to-play games.
  • Mastery of AI and Prompt Engineering for creative processes.
  • Mastery of the structural basics of good storytelling.
  • Comfort in matching existing narrative formats, house styles, and tone consistency.
  • Working knowledge of editing best practices, both giving and receiving editorial feedback.
  • Good research skills, particularly for writing outside one's lived experience.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience writing in or translating content to Hindi.
  • Background in mobile storytelling platforms like Episodes, Choices, or similar.
  • Knowledge of reality TV-inspired narratives, romance, drama, or thriller genres.
  • Familiarity with localization workflows and working with creative teams.
  • Experience with dialogue-driven storytelling across formats (e.g., comics, screenplays, visual novels).
  • Comfort with character humor, romantic tension, and emotionally charged conflicts.
  • Ability to write choices and consequences that impact character relationships and plot flow.
  • Candidates must demonstrate cultural understanding relevant to Indian audiences.
  • Portfolio with interactive fiction/dialogue-heavy samples is mandatory.
  • Samples must be original and showcase character development, humor, emotional tension, or branching dialogue.
