Job Description: Senior Accountant, Corporate Finance

Location: Mumbai

Reports To: Senior Manager, Corporate Finance

Role Overview:

The Senior Accounts Executive will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You'll partner with stakeholders, streamline processes, and be the finance bridge for group Companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as GST, TDS, and other tax filings.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial planning.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Supervise junior accounting staff and provide guidance/training as needed.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Monthly Trial Balance Closure
  • Monthly MIS, quarterly standalone & consolidated financial Reports

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Strong knowledge on GST and relevant returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C),

Including TDS returns.

  • Issue 16A to Vendors / Service Providers (yearly/quarterly).

  • Assist in Tax Audit, Accounts Finalization with auditors.

  • Ensure tax compliance & support filings.

  • Liaise with auditors, improve processes, and support ad-hoc finance tasks.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior/executive role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
