Role & responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end high-end book production using Adobe InDesign CC 2025 and related publishing tools.
  • Manage XML-first workflows, ensuring accurate content flow from manuscript to final output.
  • Analyze XML structures based on manuscript and client requirements.
  • Prepare and process samples for client review and approvals.
  • Ensure seamless integration of MathType, MathTool, and other design elements in the workflow.
  • Work with interactive PDFs, libraries, and advanced InDesign features for efficient layout and design handling.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery within short TAT while maintaining quality standards.
  • Test and validate scripts or tools (using JavaScript) for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain version control, documentation, and process adherence as per internal QA guidelines.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience: 4-8 years of hands-on experience in Book production in a publishing or prepress environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign CC 2025, including XML handling, Libraries, and Interactive PDFs.
  • Working knowledge of MathType / MathTool / Adobe Illustrator / Adobe Photoshop.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of JavaScript (for InDesign automation/testing).
  • Domain Expertise: Familiarity with XML-first workflows, production standards, and quality requirements in book publishing.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts as required by the business.
