Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Design Sr. Engineer for Heavy Structures to lead and manage the design team in the development of large-scale and complex structural projects. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and optimization of heavy structural components for various industries, including construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure. The Design Sr. Engineer will ensure the designs meet safety standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements, while also driving innovation and efficiency in the design process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to engineers and designers working on heavy structural projects.
• Oversee the conceptualization, design, and detailed engineering of heavy structural components, such as bridges, industrial buildings, offshore platforms, steel structures, and other large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Ensure that designs are in compliance with industry standards, local codes, and regulations, ensuring structural integrity and safety.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align the design process with project timelines, budgets, and objectives.
• Review and approve all design documents, drawings, and calculations to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Implement best practices in structural design, utilizing cutting-edge software and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, Tekla).
• Conduct structural analysis and simulations to verify design viability and perform optimization when necessary.
• Identify potential risks and design challenges early in the project and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with clients and external partners to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise during the design phase.
• Monitor and evaluate team performance, ensuring that design work is completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
• Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in structural design, and incorporate them into design strategies when appropriate.
• Maintain a strong focus on sustainability and cost-effectiveness while ensuring the designs meet performance and safety criteria.
• Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and presentations to senior management and clients as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in designing heavy structures.

• Proven experience in managing large-scale structural projects from conception to completion.
• Expertise in structural design software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Tekla, Revit, etc.) and familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling).
• In-depth knowledge of local and international building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with external consultants and clients.

• Experience in dealing with clients and stakeholders directly.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
• Ability to travel to project sites for inspections and assessments.
