SQL Database Developer

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performing databases and data-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL programming, database design, performance optimization, and data integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support applications, analytics, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration and migration.
- Design and implement database schemas, normalization, indexing, and partitioning for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with application developers to integrate database logic into application code.
- Monitor database performance and perform tuning, optimization, and query analysis.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through proper design and administration practices.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Assist in the design and development of data warehouses and BI reporting solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).
- Exposure to data warehousing concepts and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Familiarity with Python, R, or shell scripting for data manipulation and automation.
- Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or equivalent.
