Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Baker to support daily baking operations. The role involves preparing ingredients, assisting with dough mixing and shaping, operating baking equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment. The Assistant Baker will work closely with the Head Baker/Chef to maintain quality, consistency, and efficiency in all baked goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing, measuring, and mixing ingredients for bread, cakes, pastries, and other baked products.
  • Support in kneading, shaping, proofing, and baking dough.
  • Operate baking equipment (mixers, ovens, sheeters, etc.) safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality.
  • Decorate or finish baked goods as instructed (glazing, icing, garnishing).
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area as per food safety standards.
  • Stock, rotate, and organize ingredients and baking supplies.
  • Assist in inventory management and inform the Head Baker about shortages.
  • Follow recipes, instructions, and production schedules accurately.
  • Support in packing, labeling, and displaying baked products.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in baking, pastry, or kitchen assistance preferred (freshers with passion for baking can also apply).
  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques and food safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and maintain consistency.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long hours and handle kitchen equipment.
  • Team player with good communication and time-management skills.
