Soil Scientist

Qualification & Experience:

·      M.Sc. in Soil Science, Soil Microbiology, or related discipline.

·    Minimum 1–3 years of experience in soil testing and analysis of physicochemical properties of soil (freshers with strong lab skills may also be considered).

·      Hands-on experience with soil sampling, laboratory equipment, and analytical techniques (e.g., pH, EC, OC, macro- and micronutrients, microbial diversity, PGPR screening).

·   Proficiency in interpreting soil test results and formulating recommendations for soil health improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Conduct soil sampling, testing, and analysis of physicochemical and biological parameters.

·      Operate and maintain soil testing lab equipment (e.g., pH meter, EC meter, spectrophotometer, Kjeldahl apparatus, Flame photometer, atomic absorption spectrometer).

·      Record and analyze data using standard scientific methods.

·      Translate test results into farmer-friendly soil health reports.

·      Maintain documentation and reports as per project guidelines.

Skills

·      Strong knowledge of soil fertility, nutrient dynamics, and microbial activity.

·      Ability to operate and maintain soil testing lab equipment (e.g., pH meter, EC meter, spectrophotometer, Kjeldahl apparatus, Flame photometer, atomic absorption spectrometer).

·      Ability to communicate technical findings in simple language to farmers and field staff.

·      Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis software (Excel, SPSS, or similar).

·      Willingness to travel to rural/field locations as required.

Salary range
: Rs. 30,000/- pm (with an increment each year)
