Backend Engineer - Data Infrastructure

We're hiring a Backend Engineer to design and scale the data infrastructure behind our clinical trials optimization platform. This role isnt just about building APIsits about architecting robust pipelines that bring together messy, disparate datasets from the world of clinical research, regulatory filings, and real-world evidence. Youll work closely with product and ML teams to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and primed for insight.

What are we doing?

Bringing a single drug to market takes 1015 years and around US$1 billionand still, 90% of candidates fail in clinical trials. That's a staggering cost for companies—and a massive delay in getting life-saving therapies to patients.

By ingesting and analyzing vast volumes of clinical, regulatory, and real-world data, we're helping teams identify risks early, simulate outcomes, and design better trials—faster. Data is at the heart of this vision. We're building the pipelines, services, and infrastructure to make this possible at scale.

We're looking for someone who

  • Has strong experience building scalable and production ready data pipelines
  • Is comfortable designing ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data
  • Can write clean, maintainable code in languages like Python, Go, or
  • Understands how to work with APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud-native tools
  • Has a strong bias for action and can thrive in a fast-paced, high-context environment

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Have worked with healthcare, clinical trial, or biomedical datasets
  • Are familiar with data privacy and compliance concerns in regulated domains
  • Have experience building systems that support machine learning workflows
  • Know your way around tools like Airflow, Spark, Kafka, or DBT
  • Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape what gets built
