Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Draughtsman who has hands-on understanding of industrial valves, tube fittings, pipe fittings, manifolds, gauges, and related instrumentation products. The ideal candidate will be responsible not only for engineering drawings but also for technical documentation required for catalogues, BOMs, route cards, product specifications, and manufacturing data.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Drafting

  • Prepare precise 2D/3D mechanical drawings for valves, fittings, manifolds, assemblies, and custom components using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Revise drawings based on engineering feedback and production requirements.
  • Generate fabrication, machining, and assembly drawings with complete detail.

2. Product Knowledge & Standards

  • Understand valve, fittings, and instrumentation manufacturing standards (ASME, ISO, DIN, ASTM, etc.).
  • Interpret and apply dimensional standards for threads, pressure ratings, materials, and tolerances.

3. Catalogue & Technical Data Creation

  • Create detailed product specifications, dimensional tables, and model codes for catalogues.
  • Prepare CAD-based illustrations for catalogues and technical presentations.
  • Maintain standardized data templates for all product categories.

4. Documentation & Manufacturing Support

  • Prepare and structure Bills of Materials (BOM) for products.
  • Generate Route Cards, Process Sheets, and Work Instructions for manufacturing.
  • Assist in creating master data for ERP/MRP systems (item codes, revision numbers, drawings, etc.).
  • Coordinate with production, purchase, QC, and stores to maintain data accuracy.

5. Data Management

  • Maintain drawing records, revisions, and document control as per company standards.
  • Ensure consistency across product drawings, descriptions, and catalogued data.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in drafting for valves, fittings, instrumentation products, or precision-machined components.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (API 6D, API 6A, ASME B 16.35, ASME B 16.5, ASME Sec VIII Div. 1, PED).
  • Ability to prepare manufacturing documentation (BOM, route cards, process sheets).
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining processes.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
